Do you know that our greatest teachers are the ones who disturb our equilibrium and get under our skin?
They are giving us an opportunity to learn and grow. Gabrielle Bernstein puts it well, ‘see your tormentor as your mentor’.
Rather than reacting quickly and getting upset, this is a great opportunity to step back and observe yourself. Remind yourself that you are not this feeling.
You are much bigger than this. In many cases, it is a trigger for something you have suppressed or a past experience which has made you sensitive to this situation.
Try some breathing exercises and let the emotion move through you and out.
Ask yourself what have you learnt from this.
Practise forgiveness. It helps you open up and be more peaceful about the situation.
Forgiveness is a much higher level of vibration than the low level energies of anger and resentment. In the end we are only hurting ourselves if we hang onto them.
Of course the first step is forgiving ourselves first.
